The question that guides my current practice is “what is my relationship with the internet ?”. This question led me to use my painting to create a dialogue between my awareness of my day-to-day experience and my consumption of digital content. My paintings separate the human figure from its ordinary living spaces and the symbolic digital spaces to define the liminal state we enter when we get “lost in the algorithm”.
FSU’s graduate program, with such an excellent faculty, pushed and challenged me to reach a greater potential. It was terrific to have the opportunity to meet and commune with people who share my passion for art. I plan to use this experience as fuel to take my skills and understanding to my highest level.
