Mary Alice Braukman grew up in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida, and came to Florida State University in the early 1950’s. A proud Nole, Mary Alice makes her home in St. Petersburg and spends time in the Western mountains of North Carolina. After graduating from FSU with a BS in Art Education and Constructive Design, she taught art in Hillsborough County, consulted for the Cherry Creek School District in Denver, CO, then returned with her family to Florida. Mary Alice joined the Florida Watercolor Society and served as President in 1991 and 1992, and directed the Kanuga Watercolor Workshops for more than a decade in Hendersonville, NC.

Mary Alice now teaches workshops throughout the United States, in experimental water media painting and collage for intermediate and advanced painters, consults on workshops, lectures, and serves as juror in water media exhibitions.
