Applications are now open for Virginia Commonwealth University’s Summer Studio Program.
The VCU Summer Studio Program (SSP) is a supportive and rigorous residency program with an established track record of inspiring and developing artists within a hothouse environment. Based on their successful MFA programs, this 7-week intensive residency combines theory and practice through seminars, studio visits, visiting artists lectures, critiques, professional development workshops and intensive studio time.
The SSP has been a great success for previous participants. Past students have been accepted into MFA Programs including: the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia University, the Royal College of Art in London, the University of Texas at Austin, Washington University-St. Louis, University of Chicago and Yale, as well as to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and even their own VCU MFA Programs. In addition to being accepted to top graduate programs, the investment in the two-month studio intensive has netted many excellent financial packages for their participants.
Detailed information about the SSP faculty and the application process is available on their website.
The Summer Studio Program application deadline is April 10, 2017.
