Unresolved

FormLab, as part of CVATD’s Facility for Arts Research (FAR), is seeking project proposals for an early spring 2015 exhibition at the FAR gallery.

Theme

Successful proposals will focus on the concept of Unresolved: works that would be difficult or impossible to complete without the tools of Formlab. This may range from technical or formal achievements within a specific process, to a melding of manual and mechanical aesthetics.

[The tools available to artists include, the Mcor Matrix 300 paper printer, Makerbot Replicator, Zprinter 450 color powder printer, Epilog Laser Cutter, ShopBot CNC router, and possibly the MMap (the big 3D printer) hardware. Please visit our website to learn more about these tools.]

Project Proposals Criteria

Please describe your project in specific detail, telling us how you plan to engage the tools of FormLab (listed above). Keep in mind that the project has to be finished with our time and resource constraints. Materials will be provided by artists. Materials must comply with the safety of our staff and equipment.

Proposals Due: September 30,2014

Project Production Ends: December 19, 2014

By submitting proposals, artists acknowledge and accept that their finished work will be exhibited and held at the FAR gallery until spring of 2015.
