Thursday, December 3rd at 7PM at Phyllis Straus Gallery

What unexpected formal sensations do common materials harbor? What if conventional forms go rogue? What types of systems do we live with and how might these be re-envisioned? Students in sculpture ii explore these questions through three project assignments in this intensive intermediate studio course. Ultimately, their work suggests how sculpture’s formal, spatial, tactile and performative aspects offer new ways with which to interrogate the many facets of the known world.

Sculpture Too is the culmination of a semester of sweat, tears, plaster disasters and broken saws; also learning to lose the bullshit.
