Samantha BurnsSamantha Burns (MFA ’14) sculpture, “Automatic Thoughts: Sandusky”, received a Juror’s Choice Award at the Foundry Art Centre’s Context exhibition.

For the exhibition, Context, the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, Missouri, asked its artists – What happens at the intersection of the visual arts and the literal arts? Whether text is used in your artwork boldly, subtly, texturally, literally, or just as inspiration, what is the outcome of this combination of expressions?

The Context exhibition was juried by Buzz Spector who is an artist, writer, curator, and Professor of Art in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Samantha Burns’s and the other exhibiting artists’ works will be on display from December 11- January 22, 2016.
