ART2003C Contemporary Art Scholarship & Practice provides an introduction to the themes and creative processes that propel contemporary art and design. The course studies a wide range of media and methods used by visual artists and designers in creating images, objects, and experiences. This course is offered to all non-art majors and non-degree seeking students.
In what ways can artists attempt to effect change through the use of environmental art & design? What are notable strategies used by artists/designers in this field? How can critical thinking be used to expand on issues of sustainable art practices? Art that focuses on sustainability comes in many forms. It reflects a series of ideas about social and ecological issues facing the world today.
FSU’s Public Art & Architectural Art Specialized Studies Program is for undergraduate art majors and is made up of related set of courses intended to supplement a student’s program of studies. The 15 – 18 hours of coursework are intended to provide a greater degree of specialization in the chosen area. If you are an FSU Art major and you have or will have completed your Foundations requirements, you can register for the Public Art & Architectural Art courses. Taking Sculpture I is strongly encouraged as well.

Disney has a history of innovation and leadership in the creation of exceptional and entertaining experiences. Courses in Imagineering provide students a chance to work with Disney artists.
The Art Education program in the Department of Art Education offers a 5 year combined BA in Art/MS in Art Education degree, a MA degree with and without a teacher certification, a Specialist in Education degree (Ed.S) and a Doctoral degree.
