ARTIST / WORK ELIGIBILITY: Artists over 18 years of age, residing in the continental United States are eligible. Artists may enter up to three original 2D or 3D works of art executed after January 1, 2014. All artworks must be original and completed without supervision by an instructor in a class or a workshop. All artwork must be suitable for professional presentation. Two-dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed AWARD SELECTION 48” in any dimension including frame.
AWARD SELECTION: The juror will select exhibited works from submitted jpegs. The awarded works of art will be chosen by the juror from the physical work. No more than one prize will be awarded per individual artist. $1,000 is awarded to Best of Show. There are also First, Second and Third Place cash awards. Two Honorable Mentions will be acknowledged in the exhibition.
JUROR: Zoë Charlton, Chair, Department of Art, American University Zoë Charlton received her MFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her BFA from Florida State University in painting and drawing. Charlton has participated in residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and at The Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD. Her work has been included in national and international group exhibitions including the Contemporary Art Museum (Houston, TX), the Studio Museum of Harlem (NYC, NY), the Zacheta National Gallery of Art (Warsaw, Poland), Haas and Fischer Gallery (Zurich, Switzerland), Clementine Gallery (NYC, NY) and Wendy Cooper Gallery (Chicago, IL).
