New York Youth Symphony Art Competition

Published June 24, 2015

The New York Youth Symphony showcases the NYC metropolitan area’s most gifted musicians ages 12-22. Their mission is to educate and inspire young musicians through exceptional ensemble training and performance opportunities.

New York Youth SymphonyEvery year, NYYS commissions a young artist through the First Art program, which seeks to reward emerging artists and illustrators. Each season, a young American artist receives a juried prize of $1,000 for a new visual illustration celebrating the spirit of music as exemplified by the New York Youth Symphony.

To apply for the 2015/16 season, applicants must be able to provide two original samples of their work. These works may be any previously created pieces. Once selected, the winner will be commissioned to create an original piece of art for the New York Youth Symphony.
