The Facility for Arts Research welcomes new Co-Director, Carolyn Henne (Chair of the Department of Art). Henne is helping to lead FAR’s planning and activities starting this fall semester. FAR also extends a welcome to three new Faculty in Residence. Kevin Curry, Rob Duarte and Owen Mundy will be using the facility for teaching and research throughout the academic year.
FAR also received RhinoFabLab certification, furthering its mission to provide resources for research and education with a focus on hybrid art/design methods. As a RhinoFabLab, FAR is committed to teaching, conducting research and sharing resources about all aspects of design and fabrication. RhinoFabLab status enables FAR’s faculty, staff and visiting researchers to communicate within a global network of RhinoFabLabs, sharing research and keeping abreast of and developing best practices in the current 3D fabrication landscape.
