Position Title: Media Support
Department: Center for Intensive English Studies
This position is responsible for creating, producing, modifying, and maintaining the content of the Center for Intensive English Studies’ (CIES) website, publications, and social media accounts.
The Media Support position works closely with CIES administrators in each of its programs to advance the Center’s goals in recruiting, communication, and student satisfaction.
Education/Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in web design or graphic design

40 | Create designs for promotion of CIES in print, web, and multimedia marketing. Manage, revise, and maintain the CIES website with up-to-date photos and content. Regularly compose content for promotion of CIES on multiple social media accounts. |
15 | Work with Director to develop a comprehensive, targeted marketing plan for CIES to increase enrollment for all programs. Perform research to target prospective new student populations. Develop and administer surveys to assess needs and satisfaction among current students and compile reports for CIES staff. Contribute to other reporting projects for the Director as needed, including annual reports, Open Doors Reports, and proposals. |
15 | Take high-quality photos and videos of CIES classes, events, and activities occasionally for use in publications, website, and social media. Maintain organized folders of photos on the CIES shared drive. Coordinate with other CIES faculty and staff to have their CIES-related photos shared on social media. |
10 | Assist CIES staff as needed with development and creation of visually appealing flyers, tutorials, and PowerPoint presentations for effective communication to CIES’ English-learning student population. Design and print student textbook covers each session. |
10 | Assist CIES faculty, staff, and students with “second tier” IT issues that front desk staff are unable to resolve. Refer to/liaise with FSU ITS Helpdesk if further assistance is needed. |
5 | Attend University trainings and meetings for webmasters and communicators and monitor relevant FSU websites and listservs to stay informed of relevant University policy and procedures. Ensure that CIES website, publications, and social media activities comply with the policies of the University as well as the organizations through which CIES is accredited. |
