In February 2013, FSU Art MFA ’13 Liz DiDonna presented an original essay: “Why Clay: Material as Experience during Taking the “s” Out of Craft: Aegis’ 3rd Biennial Symposium hosted by the Hite Art Institute at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville, KY.
The essay addresses the resurgence of discourse and practice surrounding performance art and, in particular, the performative aspects of ceramics and explores historical and contemporary examples that reveal a physical, process-oriented, and community and collaborative-based practice of making.
For the upcoming Interdisciplinary Performance Symposium, Liz has reformatted this presentation to combine a traditional presentation format with multi-media including video projection and a live performance.
Liz will be presenting in the afternoon. Interdisciplinary Performance Symposium Flyer/Schedule
