Julietta Cheung at the University of Buffalo conference, Poetics: (The Next) 25 Years

Published April 11, 2016

FSU Art Assistant Professor Julietta Cheung will be discussing her paper, “Indexing the Present: Art, Writing, and Yasuko Yokoshi’s Performance Work ZERO ONE” in the seminar, Artists Who Write Objects. Her paper is an interdisciplinary exploration of database logic and the notion of the temporal present, comparing contemporary practices in visual art and conceptual writing. Cheung uses Yokoshi’s dance and video work, which she saw at MANCC last fall, to hinge her relational examination. The conference at the University of Buffalo is hosted by the renown Poetics program within the English Department. The event also celebrates the poet Robert Creely.https://poeticsthenext25years.wordpress.com
