Internship with CSX Intermodal Training

Complete a 12 week graphic arts internship with CSX Intermodal Training Team. Using the Adobe e-learning suite and working collaboratively with the training and e-learning development team manage an image library and create graphic art in support of training initiatives.  Management of the image library includes metadata tagging of all source and rendered material. The intern will also be in charge of creating standard re-useable graphic elements for programs of instructions.  Upon successful completion the program the artist will have learned the basics of instructional design and SCORM compliance with relation to a learning or content management system and is provided with all non- proprietary source documents for use in their portfolio:

Primary Duties include:
•          Flash simulations of standard safety practices
•          Modeling of standard intermodal components
•          Organizing all existing legacy data using Adobe Bridge
•          Metadata tagging source and rendered material for SCORM compliance
•          Palette creation to differentiate programs of instruction
•          Splash pages and graphical user interfaces for Captivate
•          Safety posters and job training aides

Minimum Qualifications
•Currently be enrolled in a graphic arts program as an undergraduate or graduate student
•Demonstrated proficiency (via portfolio) or certification in Microsoft Office products
•Demonstrated ability (via portfolio*) in Adobe e-learning suite or Adobe design suite.
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
•Recent graduate of graphic arts or similar program.
•Demonstrated proficiency (via portfolio) or certification in Microsoft Office products
•Demonstrated ability (via portfolio*) in Adobe e-learning suite or Adobe design suite.

* Portfolio- Applicant must provide recent and authentic portfolio with at a minimum one sample of a digital rendering, still graphic, print layout, and a flash animation piece.  Without Microsoft Office certification the portfolio should include one Word Document, a Visio rendering or a PowerPoint slideshow with graphics and text.

Preferred Qualifications
In additional to meeting the above qualifications, any of the following are preferred:
•A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
•Completed sophomore year

Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work in teams and design and produce graphic art in support e-learning products with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Visio, and PowerPoint;  Adobe e-learning suite CS5 tools including Flash, Illustrator, Captivate, Photoshop, and Fireworks; audio and video rendering tools.  Editorial ability is a plus.  Additionally the candidate should exhibit the ability to adhere to standards regarding:
•workplace safety
•the basic principles and techniques of graphic design
•typography (print and web)
•color theory and management
•elements of design
•principles of design
•image and perception
•logo design
•digital imaging software and applications
•basic word processing
•resource management/metadata tagging
•Written and oral communication skills

Job Requirements:
•Local travel as often as daily within the assigned territory of Jacksonville, Florida.
•Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences and work within established deadlines.
•Wear personal protective equipment as required at a minimum hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety vest, and safety glasses.
•Willing and able to work day shifts as assigned. Although on a rare occasion an event may require weekend or evening support.
•The applicant selected for this assignment is required to successfully complete a background check and drug test. Passing results must be received prior to start date in a new position.
Environmental Conditions:
•Work inside an office environment
•Work outside in all weather conditions.
