|FSView is in the process of creating a magazine geared towards incoming freshman–a compilation of FSU life hacks of sorts. We wanted to give freshman a guide to life at Florida State that they won’t get at orientation, with articles ranging from highlighting secret parking lots to navigating drop/add week to grocery lists for dorm living.
We wanted to see if any students would be interested in helping to draw the cover. The magazine will be called The Almanac and our initial idea for a cover would be a play on the original Farmer’s Almanac cover (attached). More specifically, we’re looking for students willing and able to draw Florida State landmarks (Doak, Westcott, Dodd, Landis, etc.) in a similar style to the drawings on the Farmer’s Almanac’s cover.
We have graphic designers on staff who can lay out the formatting for the cover but we wanted to give FSU students the opportunity to draw the pictures in each of the cover’s four corners.
The magazine will be going in every freshman’s bag at summer orientation and will be seen by thousands of students and parents and we would love the opportunity to prominently feature work done by FSU students.
|Must submit a drawing of at least one FSU landmark to be considered.
The landmarks can be of your choosing, but don’t make it anything too vague.
You will be paid $25 for each drawing that makes it on the cover.
Submissions must be made by April 1, 2016 to
