FSU Art Student Conner Berg’s Internship at K/vR Studio

Published April 18, 2018
From FSU Art BA ’19 Conner Berg:
My Spring Internship at Kaiser/von Roenn (K/vR) Studio has been a life-changing experience. As an FSU Junior in the BA Studio Art program with a focus in Interactive Media, K/vR Studio has helped me lay the foundation for a career path that I am not only excited to be entering, but also to be thriving in. Interning at K/vR Studio properly prepared me for my field, as well as the post-college “Real World.”Interning at K/vR Studio granted me with the opportunity to work directly with Kenneth von Roenn, the man who put the “von Roenn” in K/vR, and who is also a prominent figure in the architectural glass community. While working with von Roenn I developed strong teamwork and design skills, both necessary to complete projects in the field of architectural art.In addition to teamwork, K/vR taught me to practice precision and repetition as vital keys to success. While at K/vR Studio, I was tasked with designing and developing projects from original concepts.  I refined imagery by resolving compositional elements and conducted design exploration by examining alternative approaches through Photoshop, Illustrator, and website design. I was also producing and refining final digital renderings for projects into presentational form for architectural glass commissions.

While Interning at K/vR Studio there was never a dull moment. Projects began right away, and from that very first day, they never stopped. I’d come to learn later that all the work would actually be a blessing in disguise. As I look back, and realize all the skills and qualities I’ve gained, I am nothing but grateful for everything K/vR Studio has done for me.

My Internship at K/vR Studio has been a valuable experience, one that I will remember for the rest of my life. I would like to thank Kenn von Roenn for believing in me and giving me my start in a competitive field. I am thankful for the incredible experience and the opportunity I was given by being able to Intern at K/vR Studio. I look forward to working with the people over at K/vR in the future.
