The Department of Visual Arts, Humanities, and Theatre at Florida A&M University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor in Visual Arts/Multimedia Design, full time, tenure-track position beginning Fall Semester 2018.

Salary Range: $59,000.00
Qualifications: Candidates must possess an M.F.A. in Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Animation, or related concentration area and a minimum of three (3) years college teaching or equivalent work experience required. Competency in traditional art forms (i.e.: drawing, painting, printmaking, etc.) is preferred.
Candidate will teach 3-4 undergraduate courses per semester; which may include one traditional studio course and/or Art Appreciation. Candidate will be expected to have a strong background in Adobe Suites, Z-Brush, Maya and 3D Studio Max. Competency in other industry standard digital programs is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to combine excellence in classroom teaching with scholarly or other appropriate professional activity and have experience working with diverse student populations. Must be a team player and be willing to participate in university/ department committee work as well as perform other assignments essential to the development of the Visual Arts Program. Candidates must be also willing to mentor and prepare students for graduate school study, career paths in electronic media, and work collegially within the department.
