Exceptional Opportunity Award for SOUP experimental

Published April 27, 2016

Founded in February of 2016 by FSU Art MFA ’18 Ashton Bird, SOUP experimental is a new contemporary arts gallery who’s goal is to showcase and exhibit the best contemporary artworks made by emerging and experimental artists. SOUP’s Exceptional Opportunity award is being used to fund two huge projects happening in June. The first to purchase camera and lighting equipment to begin photographing artworks for our online and hard copy archive that encompasses documenting the years exhibitions and cataloging purchased or donated artworks in the collection. The second project that is funded is SOUP’s 12′ by 12′ tiered, floating garden that will be created at the front entrance of the Main Gallery. This will not only beautify the portion of the space, but invite participants in growing and tending to the flowers and vegetables that will reside in it’s fertile soil. Any vegetables grown will be donated or used in future performances in the gallery space.
