Emerging Artist Residency Program at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond

VisArts recently launched an Emerging Artist Residency Program designed to help visual artists, writers and curators who are establishing their careers and need time and space to develop their portfolios. We provide residents with studio space as well as a $5,000 honorarium and other benefits intended to enhance their creative practice.

VisArts extends an invitation for emerging artists, writers and curators to apply to the new 11-month residency program, funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The application deadline for the 2019-20 residency program is May 15, however, applicants who plan to apply to the program in subsequent years should anticipate an earlier deadline. All applications will be reviewed by an outside jury, and VisArts anticipates notifying this year’s award recipients by June 1. Students can learn more and apply on our website, visarts.org.
