Each year The Florida State University hosts a free, open-house technology fair, titled FSU Digitech. During this event, students showcase their apps, algorithms, digital art or music, visualizations, robots, start-ups, computer games, virtual worlds, and other applications of computing technology. On Friday, March 29, 2013 between 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, this fair took place in the atrium of the William Johnston Building, just off of Landis Green on FSU’s campus. Colleges and departments from various fields across the campus presented exhibitions, showing innovative technologies applied to their specific areas of study.

The Department of Art

This year, students, faculty and staff from The College of Fine Arts (CVATD), proved it was fierce competition. CVATD’s very own Department of Art held several exhibits, including individual student art work, and setups representative of the department’s Digital and Interactive Media programs, and separate 3D projects, such as the ArtDrone. FSU Student Teams who participated included:

The Department of Interior Architecture + Design

CVATD’s Department of Interior Architecture + Design also presented several exhibits from both individual students and representative of the department as a whole. Noteworthy, was the By Hand and By Machine: Exploring Furniture Design Evolution exhibit, in which the Department of Interior Architecture + Design partnered with the Donghia Foundation and the Facility for Arts Research. Interior Design student Anthony Conetta, created an exhibit on The Technological Impact on Creativity.
