The College of Visual Arts, Theatre and Dance wishes to congratulate several faculty members who have been recognized by Florida State University as Faculty Emeriti.

Gail Rubini, Department of Art, has been with Florida State University since 1989. Before coming to FSU, she worked with Chicago Books in New York City as an artist, designer and printer. The books she produced were “…original art pieces that used the printing process experimentally,” allowing Gail to bring these techniques to her classrooms. Peter hails from the United Kingdom where is worked as a set designer prior to coming to the U.S. to earn his master’s degree in design.  He has been an inspiration to students and continues to remain in contact with many alumni.  For years he has taught both the introductory course to freshman and the final studio to seniors. Lisa Waxman, Department of Interior Architecture + Design, stated, “Conquering the senior studio with Peter has become a rite of passage for our students. He has been instrumental in the growth and strength of our program.

Lynda Davis, School of Dance, has had extensive performing, choreographing, directing and teaching experience with Florida State University linking the educational and professional dance worlds together for over 35 years.
