“Below the Belt” produced by MASS Visual Arts
A themed group exhibition open to all media and to artists residing in the Southeastern United States (FL, AL, GA, MS, LA, SC, NC, TN). Broad interpretation encouraged. Any work relating to the theme “Below the Belt” will be considered for exhibition, regardless of medium. With your submission, please include your brief resume, artist statement, cover letter, and artwork detail list (including title, medium, dimensions, and artist’s compensation expected for of each piece submitted) with up to 5 digital .jpg images.

Our mission is to provide contemporary fine artists with twice yearly exhibitions presented to the burgeoning arts community in Gainesville, FL.
ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS:
The competition is open to all artists currently residing in the Southeastern United States working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art, video, etc. are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Wall mounted works must not be taller than 72″ no wider than 140″. Sculptural work must fit through a 72″ wide entry door. Artist’s are responsible for the delivery of work to and from Gainesville, FL.
Selected artists will be exhibited in a 3000 square foot event space located in a historic building in downtown Gainesville. The exhibition will open the first weekend of March 2012, and remain open to the public each weekend of the month with a closing reception coinciding with the coordinated downtown ArtWalk March 30th, 2012.
