Artists Work Directly with Fabrication Experts

Published November 12, 2015

Digital Fabrication Residency is a private independently run residency program that provides artists with the opportunity to learn directly from fabrication experts through project based learning. The core technologies that residents learn are CNC routing, laser cutting, 3D Printing, digital embroidery and digital textile printing in conjunction with learning 3D & 2D software programs.

DFR offers onsite residency opportunities such as a 3-Day Onsite and the Hybrid Program as well as a popular Online Program that allows artists the opportunity to learn and experiment directly from their studio.
For applications, program details including residency participation fees, visit and apply to DFR on our website to complete our online application form. All applicants are asked for a project proposal that outlines their goals for participating in the program.
Online Program session dates are noted on the Online Program application. We are currently accepting applications for 2016 sessions.

Onsite residency program applicants are asked to note their preferred dates for participation on their application.
There is a $15 application fee and all applicants should review DFR’s residency participation fees and Subsidized Residency and Work Exchange programs before applying.
