Art Department Participates in First Annual Capital City Children’s Day

Published June 12, 2019

The First Annual Capital City Children’s Day was a complete success! With over 41 Facilitators and Sponsors including FSU Department of Art, TCC’s Early Learning, DIBIA DREAM STEM from Miami, Florida, Leon County Health Department, Gulf Winds Credit Union and many more, the City of Tallahassee came out to celebrate children.

FSU Art Adjunct Tom Hall said “It was a lively day with lots of very dedicated children making extraordinary art work. It was very heartening to see them. I enjoyed working with every child; they were very responsive. Our studio art students were wonderful, giving each child the time they deserved to be creative.” FSU Art Department Chair Stephanie James participated as well. “I am so pleased that the Department and it’s members were able to be involved in this great day. We hope to do this again next year. Giving to the community is one of our goals. Thank you to the organizers and our staff, students and faculty for making this event happen.” she said.
