MANDEM’s “Her Brother’s Keeper: Domestication” is showing at the SECAC Juried Exhibition.

The FSU Art Department is being well represented at SECAC 2014 (Southeastern College Art Conference). SECAC’s 70th Annual Conference, “NEXUS: From Handmade to High-Tech,” is being held October 8-11 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota and the Ringling College of Art and Design.

 

Presenting at SECAC:

– FSU Art MFA ’15 Maize Arendsee (art name MANDEM), “Medusa, from Ovid to Cixous to ‘Once Upon A Time’.” (Session: Wicked Women in Art.) 

– FSU Art MFA ’15 Michael Diaz, “For What It’s Worth.” (Session: Installation Art: Fine Arts, Digital Media, or Social Issues Art?)

Mary Stewart’s “Continuum #8” is showing at the SECAC Juried Exhibition.

– FSU Art Professor Mary Stewart, “Exploring Inquiry-based Teaching and Learning.” (Session: Participation and Collaboration: Art Practice, Research, and Pedagogy.) – Professor, Maize Arendsee (MANDEM) and Mary Stewart are also showing art in the SECAC Juried Exhibition. MANDEM’s “Her Brother’s Keeper: Domestication” and Stewart’s “Continuum #8” are among only 27 pieces selected for this exhibition by juror Matthew McLendon, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Ringling Museum, Sarasota, FL.
