All call for black creatives!

The Student Life Cinema is looking for submissions by black creatives in the visual and literary arts (poetry and essays). Selected works will contribute to a zine promoting the SLC film festival celebrating black directors! Your work does not have to be directly related to any film.

While not all of these films will play during the festival, feel free to draw inspiration from: Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk, Boyz n the Hood, Rafiki, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Black Panther, Blackkklansman, Daughters of the Dust, Black Girl (1966), Killer of Sheep, Do the Right Thing, Sorry to Bother You, or any other film with a black director

Keep in mind this is for a school-sponsored organization so graphic or troubling content will not be selected.

Written work should be under 500 words, the shorter the better! If your poetry demands a specific format or has accompanying artwork please submit it in a jpeg format.
All visual submissions should be uploaded as a jpeg.

The deadline is February 10th
For submissions please use this link and if you have any questions please email SLCAlternative@admin.fsu.edu.
